When our lives are going well, when we are excited and enthused, all well and good. We all love those times.

But life is life and that means that there will be plenty of times that you may feel lost or unfulfilled. You will have periods of difficulty, feeling as if you are walking through jam. At some point, your relationships will be called into question, your work and career will come to a crossroad, or your home or financial security may strike worry and anxiety within.

And it’s at these times that working with a coach can change your perception of your situation, shift your mindset and enable you to re-evaluate your beliefs.

Why is that important?

Because your perceptions and your beliefs control your internal dialogue. It’s the quality of your internal dialogue, that never ending inner voice, that determines the quality of your life. What you may not be aware of is that your beliefs are held and managed in your subconscious mind, and we operate from our subconscious mind about 95% of the time. As it’s subconscious, you’re most likely not even aware of what those beliefs are.

Being coached takes commitment and focus. It’s with that focus of mind and the tools and practical philosphy that we will use as part of our work together, that you will be amazed that no matter what the nature of events that life brings, you will master your feelings and thinking patterns about them. This is what I believe resilience is and it leads to an appreciation of life’s journey, whatever your situation may be.

We learn and develop through change and challenge but a lot of the time we fear change and challenge because of our overactive survival emotions – of which fear is the root of all low emotions. We also learn and develop through our relationships but a lot of time we don’t recognise their value. For example, many people talk about separation and divorce as a failed relationship.

No relationship or event is a failure. It never can be, as it’s about the interrelatedness of ourselves. It’s through the difficult relationships or events that we can access deep wisdom, if we open ourselves up to our human experience.
